I f there is one single thing that I would love to do until the rest of my life and never get bored of it, is to travel. I`ve travelled some, not as nearly as I would like to. However, I gained enough adventurous experience, one of which would be the biggest – my “travel” to Canada so as to immigrate, to learn, how this changes us for who we are. It changes us for the better. It opens our horizons; it makes us see how our own worlds are so freakishly small and how the real world out there is so beautifully colorful. You learn over time how  “the different” and  “the unknown” should not create fears in us, but fire up the curiosity, intrigue, possibilities, understanding, appreciation, admiration. I think we become more human, more open-minded. Definitely more courageous.

And then the memories…  Especially if you are lucky enough to find the travelling buddy to share the same interests and joys with, like my sister has always been to me, the memories that are created, they last forever. Way past the trips taken. After all, when years go by and life goes by, the memories are the only thing we are left with. Something that perhaps determines if we lived “hard enough” or not? Well at least, that is how I see things.

 

 

And for me, travel has been on top of my list when it comes to creating memories; discovering new places, meeting people – old friends and new ones.

AND: tasting new food!
