H ands down my favourite season is autumn followed by winter. I was thinking about that a lot with the latest transition into the cold months, getting excited about more pleasurable temperatures, changes of the scenery like colouring books, birthday celebrations. Is it because I changed, because I became a runner so I detest the heat, or is it because I fell in love with the long motorcycle rides so I prefer not to be fried on the road? Is it because I had a chance to spend some more time in the countryside and out of the city hustle, to actually notice the peace and salvation within something simple like the wild nature? Or is it perhaps the nostalgia taking me back to my childhood in Croatia and always thrilling back to school time, meeting with the friends again, and lots and lots of fall birthdays including mine?

It may be all that, and it may also be the newly developed allergies which are suffocating me in Toronto’s known summer humidity, and most definitely the raging hormones are a lot of times the reason why I just PLEASE want -20 °C right away! So, yeah, a lot of factors are in the play. (Or you can read in between the lines and see the translation for getting old? Oh, wtr…)

But I am absolutely sure of one reason why I love cooler seasons the most, and that is fashion! How so?

Well, more layers, more fashion. It’s simple; more IS more! And I love more!

I. WANT. MORE. FASHION.

Immediately I start thinking about the materials and the patterns in no limits of any kind, unleashed of worries if something would be too warm, too heavy, too much, too sticky, too uncomfortable. Summer fashion, on the other hand, makes me think all that. Along the same lines, I think about the accessories, which to me is the ultimate fashion touch to any outfit. My passion for statement necklaces blossoms in this time of the year; I think I am most creative because I am most inspired by the seasons, and I am super thrilled to present to you a few of the new designs I came up with, which are now curated in my online store.

While staying true to mixed media fashion jewelry and having knitted beads to be the main elements of my designs, this time, I skewed to more organic options out there like the hemp thread, as opposed to using hard connecting stuff like chain and wire.

Don’t get me wrong, I will always have the craving for more edge and rock and roll that metal accents bring into the mix, I just allowed myself to experiment with something new and different and be curious about the fashion statements that could come out of it.

Again, designing jewelry, I always somehow have a feel for the entire outfit. That’s how my brain works, and maybe this is a reflection of my personal fashion style at the moment.

This past year, I started thinking this way and creating necklaces for my girlfriends as well as accepting a few special orders. I love making something for the people I know; I am always excited to see them unwrapping pieces of jewelry I created, having their personalities and character in mind, and waiting for the reaction. My peeps are lovely and polite peeps but I do think their loving responses were genuine. These are some of those surprise necklaces.

Needless to say that this “product test” went pretty well, and encouraged me to start designing something for Sgravalli online store too. Here we are, new pieces just added, and as we move forward, more and more will come your way, so if you like this so far, leave your email here, like, follow, subscribe to Sgravalli on social media and be notified when I have some news for you.

Some of the new necklaces are simply more like an art rather than jewellery, statement pieces that will elevate someone’s flair for fashion to a whole other level. The uniqueness, the character, and the beauty of these items will for sure present itself as an eye-catching, conversation-starting, fashion-forward trend.

If you are planning any holiday shopping for yourself or someone who belongs to this world described here, then you should continue browsing at Sgravalli Fashion Jewellery and Accessories SHOP and see what’s available. And now, I can’t wait for snow! (Do remind me of this blog post sometime in April when we get another layer of white.)
